Job description
The Cameroon country package forms part of the global programme entitled Green Innovation Centres for the Agriculture and Food Sector, and of the ONE WORLD – No Hunger special initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Its objective is to contribute to sustainable rural development in selected regions of Cameroon through innovations in the agriculture and food sector. The central approach of the project is to strengthen farmers’ organisations and associations. Broader application of tried–and-tested innovations will enhance yields and quality in the priority value chains (potatoes, cocoa and poultry), thereby boosting incomes for small agricultural businesses and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and creating more employment opportunities in the local agriculture and food sector. Opportunities for women and young people will also be improved, particularly with regard to (youth) employment in upstream and downstream sectors.

The project is implemented in three core modules: (1) local innovation systems to strengthen producer communities and service providers; (2) skills development to embed innovations in the national state and private sector training system; and (3) promoting sustainable agribusiness through the creation of service networks in the area of seeds and planting stock or as contractors for agricultural machinery.
