Transport Technician

1. Optical network maintenance and fault detection
2. End to end routing for data and services from core side to radio side
3. Site and route survey
4. Microwave equipment installation
5. Routing implementation and plan implementation based on provided designs
6. Daily interaction with NSP and other management systems to confirm the QOS
7. Las-mile configurations with ISP/Corporate teams and other concerned units
8. Performing backup procedure for the different transport nodes
9. Detailed daily and weekly reporting to supervisor or coordinator
10. OAM activities within engineering domain, that is beyond expertise/domain of other units
11. Performing regular health check for different transport nodes
12. Metro fiber links maintenance on field with subcontractors

• Team working and relationship building skills
• IP/Networking basic background and practical experience
• Basic knowledge, and direct operational experience (if valid) with TCP/IP (v4 & v6), BGP, OSPF, QOS, MPLS, AAA, and Diameter protocols.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to perform independent analysis and plan for implementation, paying special attention to details and objectives.
• Field visits and readiness for physical intervention if needed
• Familiarity with microwave equipment unpacking/installation/commissioning
• L2 switches and routers unpacking/installation
• Optical routers unpacking/installation

The transport technician is responsible of the realization of the activities issued by the coordinator/supervisor and is responsible also of maintaining the quality of the network via daily health checks and reports compilation
